Today we began discussions about homes around the world. Thinking about how our homes may be different or similar to homes in different countries, with a focus on construction, climate and culture. In these pictures, we are beginning to construct igloos made out of royal icing and sugar cubes. Before this great activity, we were able to discuss who lives in these chilly dwellings, where they live in the world and also watch a short video on how they are constructed by the Inuit people. Ask me about chinking! We made a connection today with log cabins and igloos and how chinking can keep a home made of ice or logs warm and safe. Stay tuned to see how these turn out this week!
