Thank you, Mrs. May for teaching us about Three Kings Day. We enjoyed hearing about your family's mexican traditions for this holiday. We also enjoyed trying the Rosca de Reyes, a sweet bread baked with miniature plastic babies hidden inside.

This morning for our Morning Meeting activity, KD students played 'Toe to Toe'. Each student needed to come up with their own idea, a body part, that they would need to touch with a partner. KD kids came up with over 20 ideas! You should have seen eyebrow to eyebrow or neck to neck. This was hilarious to watch!

We have continued to work with geometric shapes and identifying shapes in our environment. In this activity, students were asked to find eight different ways to fill a hexagon. First using the wooden pattern blocks, then switching to the stickers to show the eight different ways!

In Writer's Workshop we have been talking about the author's voice. An author's voice is as unique and special as our thumbprints! Here you can see we each left our thumbprints to remind us. We have been talking about how to recognize the author's voice, what feelings and words an author uses to make what they are writing about one of a kind.

Today we talked more about the Wampanoag people. We focused on Native American storytelling, the importance of  pictures as a way of recording events and telling stories. Students wrote their own stories using an example picture dictionary.
