Today we met with Señora Quezada- Taylor to learn a song and dance called 'chocolate'. We are hoping to share this in an upcoming assembly. We have been studying the Aztecs this week and learned how important cacao beans and chocolate were to the Aztec people. Did you know that the Aztec leaders drank up to 50 cups a day and that the beans were so rare that they were often used like money? We also learned about molé today by reading a story based on a mexican folktale titled Holy Molé. Not many of my K friends were interested in this spicy chocolate dish.

What a great morning we had in KD! Today we finished packing our suitcases and with our passports and boarding passes in hand, we passed through customs and airline security and took our seats on the plane. Students enjoyed an in flight snack and movie about Mexico and important messages from our stewards and pilot. We had a great time and expect to return to Ohio in February.
